MICAN Project Portal
The MICAN Project Portal is being built
upon the Microsoft 2003 platforms and will permit user interaction
by using standard software programs such as MS Outlook and
the Internet Explorer web browser, found on many computers.

Server: MS Project scheduling
and planning
- SharePoint Server:
Team collaboration and archive
- Exchange Server:
Email and communications
- SQL Server: Database
Access will be from a standard email application,
web browser and the Microsoft Office family of products. Microsoft
Project will also be used as an interface application. However,
if a user does not own Microsoft Project, they can still view
the schedule and charts with their web browser.
Eventually, this Portal site will permit
access to reading data, and inputting of data, from a PDA
such as a Palm Pilot or a RIM Blackberry.
